The goal of the National Office for Research, Measurement and Evaluation Systems (NORMES) web site is to provide a readily accessible source for reliable educational achievement data in Arkansas. The NORMES web site has been designed as a resource for educators, policymakers, parents, and other stakeholders in education to investigate and answer questions on public school systems.
School Performance
The School Performance link contains achievement data reported at the school and district levels to track the results of school improvement efforts. Visitors can compare districts and schools by a variety of characteristics such as district or school size, amount spent per student, demographics, and geographic location.
GAPS
The Geographic Academic Policy Series (GAPS) uses GIS technology to illustrate results of analysis on academic achievement gaps in Arkansas. The goal of the GAPS Series is to provide a visual "snapshot" of achievement relative to important policy issues.
ALERT
The Analyzing Learning Equity Research Trends (ALERT) series provides an interactive component to answer the question "Is this school or district closing the achievement gap?" Visitors to this site can compare the performance of various groups to determine if the difference in achievement between groups is important.
Enterprise Guide for Educators
Through Enterprise Guide for Educators, NORMES provides school and district administrators with student level data and reports on a restricted website for use in the improvement of classroom instruction. The restricted site provides access to individual student information, including demographic, administrative, and achievement data.
